How do microneedles change the skin barrier question?
The stratum corneum limits the passive transport of many actives, especially larger or hydrophilic molecules. A microneedle array is designed to interact with this barrier through small, structured needles rather than relying only on diffusion from a conventional patch.
A pathway alone does not establish a target dose, deposition depth or clinical outcome. Geometry, material, payload location, application method and skin condition all influence the result and should be evaluated in the context of the product.
