Three major microneedle classes and six technology variants

CASMN Microneedle Technology Platform

A polymer microneedle platform integrating coated, dissolving and swelling microneedle technologies with formulation, process and evaluation capabilities.

How Microneedle Delivery Works

Microneedles are typically several hundred micrometers long. They pass through the stratum corneum to form micron-scale pathways without reaching the deeper nerve-rich tissue, enabling localized or systemic delivery with improved usability.

Coated Microneedles

A drug coating is applied to a water-insoluble microneedle surface and released rapidly after insertion, supporting low-dose and precision delivery.

03

Dissolving Microneedles

Water-soluble pharmaceutical polymers carry active ingredients within the needle matrix or tip; the structures dissolve after insertion and release the payload.

Swelling Microneedles

Water-insoluble structures swell after insertion to form hydrogel pathways through which larger payloads can diffuse; the array is removed intact after use.
